2021.10.18 18:31 Snoo_95039 Chamfers
So I’m just wondering how to work out the depth of chamfers at any angle really, I’ve never really learned trigonometry so I suck at it and I’ve always just touched on the corner and gone down the size specified only to learn that’s not how you determine chamfer depth. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

2021.10.18 18:31 Boring-Revolution171 The reality of outdoor guides
I'd like to start by saying how lucky I am to have the opportunity to work as a whitewater kayak guide and instructor.
I made less than (state) minimum wage while teaching people how to propel their bodies down rocks and resulting hydraulic laden bodies of water and sharing what I loved didn't make up for the drudgery associated with the job.
Guides are required to pay for their own development and training. I made $100 a day and started at 7 or 8 am and worked until 4 or 5 pm. The job is considered a per diem and tipped role. I took it thinking tips would be good, a big mistake. Tips are not a given even though you are responsible for the safety and overall happiness of up to 5 peoples who may or may not have ever been on a river before. This means teaching, talking to, driving, leading and rescuing them and their gear. The work exists primarily on the weekends but you can expect to work 14+ days straight.
Guides are not provided equipment to use. This is pretty much the norm for outdoor work. Ski resorts often provide uniforms but wear items like boots, skis, etc are never provided. A kayak and paddle can run thousands of dollars and using them daily obviously runs them down considerably as they hit rocks. This combined with your personal safety gear comes out to be a lot. Finally, guides are required to carry a customer first aid kit, swift water rescue gear (rope, blocks, rigging equipment), a breakdown paddle for customers. None of which is provided.
I signed up under the impression I would be teaching and guiding. I understand work chores are part of the gig. So I accepted the task of cleaning the company's campground porta potties as part of the gig (you don't get hourly pay and it's considered part of morning chores).
So here's my work story. After camping all summer since housing is not only unavailable but is also completely unaffordable in the area I worked, I was asked to start driving shuttles. I am not a huge fan of driving mainly because it happens to be extremely dangerous. I had never known I was supposed to spend 9 hours a day driving dilapidated vehicles, with doors that don't close, starter problems, and various electrical issues. It was never made clear to me when I got hired. I loved the river part of the job so I bit the bullet and drove, and drove some more, and then more. Eventually I was driving more than anyone else who I worked with.
I brought this up to one of the owners and asked to not drive anymore. I had tallied up the driving totals and some people had never had to drive at all. I got a verbal ok that I wouldn't have to drive and that they thought I wanted the hours.
Soon after I find myself scheduled for driving again. Schedules would be posted less than 24 hours in advance. I brought this up to a different owner who had completed the schedule. He lost his shit on the spot with me. As he was rigging up a company boat to take out on the weekend. Guides weren't allowed to use company gear without paying for it. He got in my face and it took everything for me to not get back in his. I took it. He told me he was supposed to have the weekend off after i had worked every weekend that summer. He told me he didn't make rhe schedule he just wrote it. I went back to work. He later pulls me aside and says
"If you don't want to be part of the mission we don't want you here."
So I grabbed my stuff and left that day. I ended up going to Idaho and paddling the Payette for a couple weeks and realized how much that job made me hate something i loved so much.

2021.10.18 18:31 Fuzz1121 CO2 In-line clip pistols - Questions before attempting
I am about to undertake the engineering challenge of turning the classic Scout pistol into a CO2 in-line system. I can already see a bunch of issues but, no, I'm not terribly concerned with performance so the loss in effectiveness via a growing empty volume should be fine. My question is, has anyone attempted something like this before? I've been struggling to find hardware, but I'm thinking a simplified HPA setup with 1/4" OD tubing to push fittings into the back of a brass system.
The issue seems to be going from a threaded CO2 cartridge to a push fit connector. The only solution I have been able to find is using a thread-on bike inflator (cartridge to schrader valve) then using a Schrader to 1/4" or 6mm adapter. Anyone have any better ideas?

2021.10.18 18:31 ayewhotfami Punk Final Thoughts
Ok so after I gave it a few more listens I can confidently say this:
Most of you're opinions are invalid, you're alowed to have constructive critisism and you can hate it if you want but most of y'all opinions are that it's not old Thug or that it's not BTG or that there aren't any of the snippets you hoped for, which is sad to be honest.
The only real criticism I've heard on this sub is that the mixing was weird/bad on a few of the songs, that it was packed with features and that it sounded repetitive. Which I do agree with some of those points.
Get this though; this is what Young Thug wanted to release, and what he has been promoting since 2019. You should know by now that he reinvents himself with every project and it shouldn't be surprising at all, why? Because he already gave us a feel of what the album was going to be like by talking about it, saying that it was going to be different and more personal/introspective. He also previewed some songs on the Tiny Desk performance (excluding Tick Tock and Ski because those aren't part of the album). So I think it's really unfair that a lot of you rejected it when you knew what was coming.
For me personally I loved this album, it was a more vulnerable side of Young Thug that we rarely get to see. It was a very cohesive album compared to his older projects, it kept a consistent theme theme throughout, except for a few songs that felt kinda out of place but I feel like they give a bit of a break from the slow/meaninful vibe, but that's up for debate (and a valid point to discuss). It also was more personal, and pretty much each song stayed in the same lane of its subject matter, which gave it more substance. Also lyrically, it was better than older projects, it was clearer and well meant.
This album was obviously what Thug wanted to put out, he has said in an interview that his best song was Stupid/Asking, how can you hate if this is what he wanted to do? Why are you so entitled that you want him to make music that suites YOUR vibe and unreleased songs that YOU want on there when it's HIS project? Because guess what, most people really liked this album that aren't fans unlike a lot of you, which clearly shows you wanted something specific. Thug is most likely NOT going back to his older style, this is him NOT "changed" but "matured". He WANTS to make this type of music, hence this direction and why he's so proud of songs like Stupid/Asking and Road Rage. Hate it if you want, which means it's clearly not your vibe and that's totally ok, but you can't say it's trash or bad music when it's a body of art that he put his heart into. Art is art, it's subjective, not perfect, it's personal and not for everyone.
I would rank this album like this:
